I was browsing Uncle Joel's blogs and websites trying to discover what it is about his work that makes you believe that what he is saying is very thoughtful and deep. After much research, I've discovered his secret! His depth comes from his thoughtful black & white profile photograph. As they say, immitation is the sincerest form of flattery:
Don't be surprised if my posts start striking you as very deep from now on........
Well, this is certainly one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. Max, you look every bit the pensive philosopher in that photograph (I especially like the downcast gaze; nice touch). And you have indeed discovered my secret: when you can't *think* deep thoughts, at least do your darndest to *look* like you're doing so. That and keep your mouth shut. People tend to mistake silence for sober reflection.
ReplyDeleteThis is a scream! I'll have to try it myself... (not the mouth shut part, of course, just the looking deep). Can't wait to see you guys in March. Love, Mom
